When did something so natural become something “obscene”. If you’re not aware, recently Facebook has been pulling a MySpace and not allowing Facebook users to post pictures of moms breastfeeding their children. The pictures have been reported as “obscene” and thus removed by the social utility giant.

I don’t know everything, but I do know one thing with 100% certainty — you can’t win a fight with a women, especially moms when they come together for a cause. Women are powerful! Don’t believe me? Look how fast these angry breastfeeding mother’s have come together to petition Facebook’s uncanny attempt to censor us from babies eating - naturally!

In 30 days the “Hey, Facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene! (Official petition to Facebook)” has grown from 6,000 members to a whopping 24,619 members. That’s is a ton of angry lactating mothers! I definitely would not mess with them!

If you want to help support their cause join their group and help them petition Facebook to stop being such a prude! Join the Official petition on Facebook here

Facebook, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Mothers are feeding their babies, so that they can LIVE!! If there was no such thing as formula, would you consider breastfeeding obscene? If there were pictures of Mothers in Africa feeding their children, in hopes to keep them alive, would you consider that obscene?? When are people going to just realized that breastmilk is the number one natural source that is the perfect food for a baby? When are people going to stop looking at breasts as something that is purely sexual and see them as a means to feed a women’s child? Facebook, please explain to all of the Moms out there who have and are breastfeeding their children to keep them alive and healthy, why breastfeeding is soooo obscene. I’d like to see you try.

Again Facebook, you should be so ashamed of yourselves…

Hahaha, I find this hilarious, honestly… Facebook isn’t saying “omg breast feeding is obscene” they’re saying “omg naked pictures of people on the Internet are obscene” so that would include breasts. They’re not against mothers feeding their kids, but just don’t take pictures of it… Sure, using the bathroom is natural as well, do we post them pictures? What about sex? How do you think those babies came along? But we’re not going to post a picture showing us having sex, are we? Nudeness has become obscene over the years, and now its natural to be offended or not wish to see naked people around. We still do, but places like Facebook would like to minimize it. You let one thing get by, people will fight for the next thing until its a nude-filled website. I wouldn’t want MY baby to grow up to be a young child and have to see this sort of thing upon the Internet and such. Children use Facebook too.

I do agree with you, however, I wont win… Even though I’m a woman myself people who believe strongly in something wont let others in to make them believe otherwise. Look at cultures, religion, etc. I just felt I needed to voice my opinion a little and show a second view to this.
